Take A Picture Of Your Food And Provide A North Texas Family With A Meal

GiftAMeal is working with the North Texas Food Bank to transform photos into meals for families in need. Founded by Andrew Glantz, the nonprofit is partnering with over 900 restaurants in 38 states, including North Texas.

Every time a guest snaps a photo of their order at a partner restaurant using the GiftAMeal app, a meal is donated to a Plano family. During September, GiftAMeal users can join a photo-sharing challenge by snapping pictures of their food or drinks at participating restaurants. Each photo will trigger a meal donation to a local food bank.

At the end of the month, the best photos will be showcased in a voting poll on GiftAMeal’s social media, and the top photo will earn 1,000 meals donated to the local food bank where it was taken.

Participating Collin County restaurants include The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill, Gong Cha, Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya and Mici Italian, among others. Download the app to see all participating restaurants.

“We are thrilled to launch the photo-sharing challenge for Hunger Action Month,” said Glantz in an official statement. “This initiative not only engages our community in a fun and meaningful way but also significantly amplifies our impact on local food banks. We’re excited to see the creativity of our users and to work together in the fight against hunger.”

In addition, restaurants that partner with GiftAMeal during September will enjoy a special perk. By using the promo code HUNGER at sign-up, GiftAMeal will donate an extra 50 meals to the restaurant's local food bank (up to 1,000 meals per brand if multiple locations participate). Hunger Action Month, organized by Feeding America, is a national campaign aimed at rallying the public to combat hunger. Every September, individuals, charities, businesses and government agencies come together to raise awareness and inspire efforts to end hunger across the United States.
