Famed Dallas Mike’s Chicken Set To Open In Plano

A beloved Dallas fried chicken spot is spreading its wings to Collin County. Mike’s Chicken, a local favorite known for its crispy tenders, hearty sides and homegrown charm, is opening a new location in Plano.

Founded in 2014, Mike’s Chicken built a loyal fan base with two popular Dallas locations, one on Maple Avenue in Oak Lawn and another near Forest Lane. Now, the family-owned restaurant is expanding beyond Dallas city limits for the first time, with a third location currently under construction in Plano at the corner of Renner Road and State Highway 190.

The new spot is expected to span 2,500 square feet, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Currently, the new location does not have a set opening date, but will be located at 3355 E President George Bush Hwy, Plano.

What’s on the Menu?

Mike’s Chicken is best known for its no-frills, flavor-packed menu. Diners can expect crispy chicken tenders, wings, sandwiches and build-your-own bowls, alongside comforting sides like mashed potatoes, fries, creamed corn and mac and cheese.
