McKinney’s TUPPS Brewery just brewed up a big win, earning the title of Best Brewery in Texas by the 2025 Texas Travel Awards. They’re the larger than life champs of the Lone Star State.
The accolade celebrates Tupps' standout presence in the Lone Star State’s travel scene, honoring not only its lineup of craft beers but also its community-first approach and one-of-a-kind atmosphere.

Craft Beer and Community in a Historic Setting
Tupps Brewery is a staple in McKinney’s cultural and social life, offering a rotating menu of beers, food options and a packed calendar of events that includes live music and brewery tours. Its dedication to community engagement and craftsmanship helped earn its new title as the state’s best.
“From bold brews to big community energy, TUPPS continues to raise the bar for what a brewery experience can be,” Visit McKinney said in a LinkedIn post. “It’s a gathering place, a local favorite, and now an award-winning destination recognized across the state.”
In 2024, after reaching capacity in its original 17,000-square-foot facility, Tupps relocated to the former McKinney Grain site. The team overhauled a 120-year-old grain mill to create a sprawling 40,000-square-foot destination that now includes a modern 25,000-square-foot production brewery and a unique retail craft community built within repurposed grain bins. All of it sits on four acres of scenic land, blending McKinney’s past with its creative future.
Brewing Capacity Takes a Big Leap
Previously, Tupps had the capability to brew up to 12,000 barrels per year. The new facility? Up to 55,000 barrels annually. That massive increase will help the team keep up with demand, especially for fan favorites like Juice Pack, a hazy IPA known for its juicy flavor and citrusy hop aroma, and the Tupps IPA, a bold West Coast-style beer.
The new facility enables Tupps to brew in a day what previously took a full week.

Tupps Brewery isn’t the only local gem receiving praise. McKinney was also recognized for its distinctive charm with a win in the lodging category: The Bingham Estate, a historic bed and breakfast, was named Best Big Market Unique Lodging by the Texas Travel Awards.
With both Tupps and The Bingham Estate earning statewide honors, McKinney continues to shine as a vibrant destination for travelers and locals alike.
