Texas secured its place among the top ten most fun states in America, according to a recent study by WalletHub

Ranking seventh overall, Texas stands out for its wide variety of entertainment and recreational activities, making it a prime destination for both residents and tourists seeking diverse options for fun and leisure. Released on August 20, 2024, the study evaluated all 50 states on 26 metrics, including movie costs, national park access and nightlife availability.

Texas excels in several categories, leading the nation in the number of restaurants, movie theaters, amusement parks and fitness centers per capita. The state also secured the tenth spot for performing arts theaters and seventeenth in golf courses and country clubs.

Florida topped the list as the most fun state in 2024, followed by California, Nevada, New York and Colorado, with Illinois just above Texas at number six.

"Living in one of the most fun states can boost your mental, physical and emotional health by giving you a wide range of activities to choose from, both indoor and outdoor," said Cassandra Happe, a WalletHub analyst, in an official statement. "These states help residents stay active and socialize and they’re also ideal for travelers who want to make the most out of the limited amount of time that they have to explore."
