When Jabeen Zaidi launched Spring AI, she wasn’t trying to replace the creative process — she wanted to supercharge it.
With a designer’s eye and an innovator’s heart, Zaidi saw a critical gap in the creative industry: existing AI image tools weren’t built for professionals. They lacked privacy, intention and a real respect for how design actually happens. Spring AI was built to change that.
From designing products to launching an AI startup, Zaidi built a career defined by curiosity, resilience and a commitment to empowering others. This fall, she will share the lessons behind that journey as a panelist at North Texas’ most powerful women’s leadership event: Local Profile’s 24th annual Women in Business Summit, presented by Bank of America, on Sept. 12. Bridging The Gap Between AI And Imagination
Spring AI, which launched publicly in January 2024, gives users the power to generate avatars, edit visuals and create virtual product mockups using their own sketches or photos — all within a private, encrypted environment.
Zaidi describes it not as a replacement for designers but as a partner: “It’s about enhancing your process, speeding up ideation and empowering people who may not have access to full creative teams.”
Features like the AI photo shoot and the reimagine tool allow for fast concept development, while the studio’s user-first approach ensures data privacy and creative control remain central.
Lessons From Building What Didn’t Exist
The road to launch wasn’t easy. Zaidi’s biggest leadership lesson came from hiring the wrong development team, an experience that cost time and forced her to trust her own instincts.
“I learned to ask better questions, to trust myself and to bring in advisors who’ve done this before,” she says.
That resilience shows. From building user feedback loops to navigating investor meetings where women often feel pressured to over-prove and under-ask, Zaidi is carving out space with both grit and grace.
Leading With Confidence And Clarity
To Zaidi, leading in AI means staying grounded in purpose and focused on asking the right questions, not having all the answers. “Walk away from the screen sometimes,” she says. “That’s when the real ideas come.”
She credits her creativity to balancing intense focus with intentional rest, and encourages other women to do the same.
