Five Collin College Tennis Players Named All-Americans

The team secured a No. 3 national finish, the program’s best since 2013

Five members of the Collin College Men’s Tennis Team were recently recognized as National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Americans, a prestigious honor awarded after their exceptional showing at the NJCAA National Tournament earlier this month.

Their collective performance not only earned them individual accolades but also propelled the team to a third-place national finish, the highest placement for Collin College Tennis in more than a decade.

The Star Players

The players honored are Cem Atlamis of Bursa, Turkey; Jose Castillo of The Woodlands, Texas; Enrique Doldan of Asuncion, Paraguay; Minjae Kim of Seoul, South Korea; and Luke Stula of Gifu City, Japan. Their achievements at the tournament included both individual and doubles success:

  • Stula won Flight 6 Singles
  • Doldan was runner-up in Flight 5 Singles
  • Kim and Castillo placed second in Flight 1 Doubles
  • Atlamis and Doldan were runners-up in Flight 2 Doubles

These five athletes mark a new chapter in Collin College tennis excellence, representing the first time since 2021 that a Cougar tennis player has received All-American honors.

Building on a Legacy

The All-American nods for these tennis players add to a growing list of athletic achievements for Collin College. Previously, tennis player Rafal Bednarczuk was named an All-American in 2021.

This year’s honorees now stand alongside standout basketball player Alisha Nunley, who in April was named to the NJCAA Division I Women’s Basketball All-America First Team.

Nunley’s honor also continued a remarkable streak for Collin women’s basketball, following Waiata Jennings in 2023 and Mackenzie Buss in 2024. The Cougars finished the recent basketball season ranked third in the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference, trailing only McLennan Community College and Grayson College.

With All-American honors across multiple sports and international talent drawing attention to the school’s programs, the Cougars continue to make their mark on the NJCAA stage.
