The city of Celina celebrated a significant milestone with the grand opening of its new police headquarters, marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Sept. 12, 2024. The state-of-the-art facility, located at Punk Carter Parkway and Coit Road, highlights the city's ongoing commitment to enhancing public safety and meeting the demands of its growing community.
"This facility not only enhances our operational capacity but also demonstrates the city's commitment to the well-being of our officers and our bond with the community," said Celina Chief of Police John Cullison in an official statement.
Designed by Brinkley Sargent Wiginton Architects and built by Lee Lewis Construction, the 32,660-square-foot headquarters includes a 2,882-square-foot courtyard and a 5,637-square-foot asset building. With a focus on officer wellness, the facility is equipped to provide Celina’s police officers and staff with a supportive environment in which to operate efficiently.
The headquarters features advanced technology and heightened security, creating a safer space for both law enforcement and the community. It also includes spaces dedicated to community outreach, strengthening the police department's connection to Celina residents. "This building represents an investment in public safety and a deep commitment to our officers' well-being and the trust of our community," said Celina Mayor Ryan Tubbs in an official statement.
City Manager Robert Ranc echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the headquarters as a testament to Celina’s commitment to safety and its police force. The facility’s amenities, including a weight room and specialized locker spaces, are designed to prioritize officer health, ensuring they maintain a healthy work-life balance while serving the community.
According to the official statement, this new headquarters aligns with Celina’s strategic plan to "Be the City Built on Public Safety," positioning the Celina Police Department to meet the evolving needs of the community.
