The Storehouse of Collin County unveiled its new identity as The Storehouse Community Center. The name change took place during the nonprofit's 15th-anniversary festivities on May 16, 2024.

Over the past 15 years, The Storehouse experienced expansion across a broader geographical reach throughout Dallas, Collin and Denton counties. When it was established in 2009 under the name Seven Loaves Food Pantry, The Storehouse limited its services to residents within designated zip codes. However, these limitations were removed in 2020 amidst the onset of the pandemic. Since then, there has been a consistent rise in the number of families seeking aid.

“Our mission at The Storehouse is to feed, clothe, and care for our neighbors in one community,” said CEO Candace Winslow. “We will continue to adapt, change, and develop new programs based on the needs of our neighbors on their pathways to transformation. The Storehouse Community Center – a warm and safe hub for our neighbors from across the region to come together and feel loved and supported – reflects who we are today and who we want to be tomorrow.”

The Storehouse offers a comprehensive range of programs designed to support neighbors in various aspects of their lives. These include a food pantry, a clothing closet, a resource referral program and an education initiative providing job, language and life skills training. The program leads to a job partnership program, facilitating connections with stable, high-quality employment opportunities. Currently, The Storehouse assists approximately 5,000 families each month.
