This September, City House supporters and local celebrities will unite to raise funds for City House and celebrate the sounds of Motown from Al Green to Diana Ross and the Supremes, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Marvin Gaye and more. Seats are expected to sell out very quickly. The emcee will be Jody Dean, host of the Morning Show on CBS Radio 98.7 K-LUV. Phenomenal Motown band The Motor City Revue, will play best loved hits, a special performance for a legendary night. The gala co-chairs will be former Dallas Stars Brenden and Anne-Marie Morrow and Marty and Kelly Turco.
According to the City House website, the mission of City House is: “To provide emergency shelter and transitional residential services to children and young adults who are in need due to abuse, neglect or homelessness.” City House was founded by two Plano ISD school teachers, who had seen their students become homeless or otherwise destitute and had nowhere to turn. City House first opened its doors in 1988 and has been serving the Collin County community ever since, now a four-home, 48-beds, multi-faceted agency that provides services to more than 500 children, young adults and their families each year.
