Legacy West—the much anticipated $3.2B development—was already named the “center of the universe” by Plano Mayor Harry LaRosiliere. We didn’t need anymore reasons to believe this to be true, but here it is: Barnes & Noble is opening its new concept store and the first of its kind at a shopping center in the Southwest aka Legacy West.

Barnes & Noble’s doors open March 2017 to a 9,000-square-foot building, that, in addition to the typical bookstore, features a full-service restaurant where guests can enjoy a nice beer or wine.

“It’s a tremendous opportunity to join the list of “best in class” restaurants and merchants opening at Legacy West,” said Vice President of Development at Barnes & Noble David Deason in a press release. “We are excited to be opening a smaller format store, as part of a number of different concept stores that we’re testing nationwide.”

Along with being the nation’s largest retail bookseller Barnes & Noble is also the leading retailer of content, digital media and educational products. Currently, the company boasts 640 bookstores across the 50 continental states, but only five of these new concept stores are in the works.

According to Legacy West developer, Fehmi Karahan, “Having a new Barnes & Noble concept store join Legacy West is a huge win; it provides the community a unique experience where people can relax, discover great new books, or meet a friend to listen to an author speak and have a glass of wine. We’re proud to deliver that experience at Legacy West.”
