Small town, big boom. USA Today just named Addison Kaboom Town the third-best fireworks show in the entire U.S., beating out iconic celebrations in New York, Philadelphia and St. Louis. Not bad for a vibrant North Texas city that knows how to throw a party.

Mark your calendar for Thursday, July 3, 2025, when Addison will light up the sky again with a dazzling Independence Day celebration you won’t want to miss.

A Texas Tradition Since 1985

What began in 1985 has grown into one of the country’s most unique and highly rated Fourth of July experiences. Despite being only 4.4 square miles in size, Addison welcomes more than 500,000 guests annually to celebrate Independence Day in a way only Addison can.

The event is truly townwide, with more than 200 restaurants (fun fact: Addison boasts more eateries per capita than any other U.S. city), 22 hotels and one central, ticketed celebration in Addison Circle Park, a 12-acre green space that becomes ground zero for the festivities.

Fireworks and Airshows Light Up the Night

The hallmark of Addison Kaboom Town is its 25-minute fireworks show, one of the most lauded in the nation. The display features over 4,000 shells and is simulcast on local radio and the town’s social media channels.

Before the fireworks, the skies belong to the Addison Airport Airshow, fueled by Million Air Dallas. Attendees can expect dazzling aerobatics, vintage warbirds and international performers soaring overhead. These aerial stunts can be seen from nearly anywhere in Addison.

What To Expect This Year

At Addison Circle Park, live performances begin at 6:30 p.m. with the 36th Infantry Band, the official band of the Texas Army National Guard. The Elton Johns hit the stage at 8:30 p.m., followed by fireworks at 9:30 p.m., and Emerald City All-Stars to close out the night.

Festivalgoers at the park can enjoy food vendors, drinks and a kid-friendly zone packed with activities. While no outside coolers or alcohol are allowed, beer and wine will be available for purchase inside the park.
