At the intersection of East Louisiana and Church Streets, something new is taking root, literally and symbolically. Rising more than 25 feet into the air, a striking new floral sculpture titled “Ever Blooming” now stands in the heart of the Downtown McKinney Cultural District, welcoming residents and visitors alike with bold color and deeper meaning.
Commissioned by McKinney Main Street and the McKinney Arts Commission, Ever Blooming is the latest addition to the city’s growing public art portfolio. Designed by Dallas-based artist Alli Koch of Alli K Design, the metal, steel and acrylic installation depicts three Texas-native wildflowers: the poppy, Indian paintbrush and primrose. Each bloom is a tribute to a different theme — perseverance, creativity and new beginnings.
"As the city embraces new developments and changes, this flower sculpture symbolizes that growth, renewal, and the beauty of new beginnings,” said Koch in an official statement. “Each flower in the roundabout symbolizes an aspect of constant evolution, celebrating the beauty of never-ending growth and the resilience of creativity."

A Gateway to the Cultural District
The site was chosen with intention: a high-traffic roundabout that connects several key points within the historic downtown core. According to Director of the Cultural Arts District Andrew Jones, Ever Blooming does more than beautify the landscape; it reflects McKinney’s continued commitment to making art accessible and central to civic life.
“This installation enhances the visual landscape of downtown McKinney,” said Andrew Jones, Director of the Cultural Arts District. “It demonstrates the city’s dedication to supporting local and regional artists and making public art a central part of the community’s identity.”
A Vision for Public Art
The project was a joint effort between the McKinney Arts Commission and McKinney Main Street, both of which saw an opportunity to turn a simple traffic circle into a lasting symbol of the city’s spirit.
Ever Blooming now stands as both a literal and metaphorical landmark, a reminder that growth is always possible, and that beauty can thrive in the most unexpected places.
