National Ballet of Texas Inaugural Performance is August 2

National Ballet of Texas “Poetic Beginnings” — an evening of movement and music

The National Ballet of Texas is dedicated to enriching the North Texas community with exceptional artistry and creativity through both classical and contemporary ballet. Based in Plano, the company will bring together top-tier dancers, choreographers and artists to create something truly spectacular — strengthening the presence of the arts in our community.

By showcasing timeless masterpieces alongside innovative new works, the National Ballet of Texas aims to make ballet accessible to all, with a strong emphasis on outreach and education. The company will foster collaboration with a diverse range of artists — including musicians, visual artists, actors and designers — ensuring each performance is a captivating fusion of movement, emotion and imagination.

NBT will make its debut on August 2 at 7:30 p.m. at the Courtyard Theater in Plano. The inaugural performance, titled Poetic Beginnings, promises an evening of contemporary dance featuring new works by all-female choreographers. Adding to the artistic richness of the event is an orchestral interlude by Resonance Collective and select poetry readings by actor Monalisa Amidar.

A reception will follow at ArtCentre of Plano, located across from the theater.
