
The annual event Love Lives Here is coming to Plano Saturday, April 9 at the Plano Centre. It’s a unique event for women of all ages that will move your heart!
Engage with other women in this relaxed and relational all-day experience put on by the nonprofit The Sisterhood whose motto is “No Matter What…Love!” The event begins at 10 in the morning and includes: a spring fashion show hosted by the online stylist and creator of Get Your Pretty On Alison Lumbatis, featured in Redbook and the Today Show; a variety of local vendors; six workshop topics ranging from navigating healthy eating to spring fashion to guilt-free parenting; a sit-down Italian dinner; live entertainment; and inspirational guest speakers!

The six workshops last 45 minutes each, start at 1, 2 and 3 p.m. and will be held in various rooms within the Plano Centre. See the full list of these workshops at the bottom of this article. Other workshop topics aside from those previously mentioned are “Finding Your Purpose and Passion” and “Identifying Intimate Relationship Predators.”

Intimate relationships are complicated. Dating in the digital age is not for the faint of heart! This workshop will prepare you to identify predatory behaviors of psychopaths, sociopaths, narcissists and sex addicts. You will learn strategies for identifying behaviors in advance of beginning an intimate relationship, as well as strategies for leaving a perpetrator. Additionally, Marie will outline the elements of a healthy intimate relationship.

Alison will show you an easy and inexpensive way to freshen up the pieces that you already love with the latest Spring trends! If you are the type of person who goes into a store and walks out with a big bag of pieces that don’t go with each other, or anything else in your closet, this workshop is for you. Learn how to take an inventory of everything in your closet and make a list of what to shop for to fill in the blanks in your wardrobe.

Learn how to stay sane in this insane culture! As women, we are bombarded daily with shame messages about how and what to eat in order to be lovable and acceptable. These messages take a toll on our physical, mental and emotional well-being. Carol will draw from Brene’ Brown’s work on shame resilience, vulnerability and authenticity to guide you in what true SELF care means.
