“We didn’t like it — we LOVED it!”
That’s what my 6- and 9-year-old shouted as we walked out of Universe of Light Featuring DC at the Gaylord Texan. And honestly? Same.
From May 23 through September 1, 2025, heroes and villains alike are descending on Grapevine as the Gaylord Texan Resort transforms into the ultimate playground for DC Comics fans. The resort is hosting DC Summer, an exclusive collaboration between Gaylord Hotels and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences.
At the heart of this supersized celebration is Universe of Light Featuring DC, a brand-new immersive indoor attraction debuting only at Gaylord Texan. It spans 17,500 square feet and showcases more than 1,000 glowing lanterns, some towering up to 24 feet tall and crafted from 30 miles of silk and 200,000 pounds of steel.
What You’ll See
The experience brings 40 DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains to life through vibrant lantern sculptures:
- Fly alongside Superman as he battles Lex Luthor above the Daily Planet
- Venture into Gotham, where Batman looms and Joker’s laughter echoes
- Join Wonder Woman in a glowing jungle showdown with Cheetah
- Ride in the Batmobile, examine newsroom clues, and walk through towering comic book panels
- Take photos at every turn — the whole setup is made for Instagram
Our Experience
Our full walk-through took less than 45 minutes , because our kids were sprinting with excitement! The entire attraction is fully air-conditioned, which makes it a fantastic way to escape the summer heat.
To add to the fun, we bought superhero capes from the on-site gift shop (highly recommend!), though you can absolutely bring your own from home.
