Louisiana Goes Lone State, a Dallas-based culinary event that partners top chefs from the Bayou State with local restaurants across the city, announced the newest additions of participating food establishments to its lineup ahead of the Oct. 25, 2023 event date.
The mouthwatering event is organized by Louisiana Culinary Trails, an effort by the Louisiana Travel Association to showcase the diverse food experiences offered by the state. Instead of waiting for tourists to visit the Bayou, Louisiana Culinary Trails takes to the road to bring the taste of Louisiana to cities across the country in the hopes of tempting visitors to try the real deal back at the Deep South state.
Joining the restaurant roster are Lane’s OAK'D BBQ (barbecue eatery), The Pelican House (New Orleans-style cuisine), On Rotation Brewery & Kitchen (small batch brewpub) and Ida Claire (southern-style restaurant).
The freshly announced eateries join a local lineup that already includes Charlie’s Creole Kitchen (Cajun restaurant), Dock Local (seafood establishment), José (Mexican restaurant), Lounge Here (cocktail and food lounge), Restaurant Beatrice (Italian dining) and more — with a grand total of 17 Dallas restaurants participating in the one-night-only event.
For the event, the local food establishments will collaborate with numerous Louisiana-based chefs to craft unique food pairings that showcase the best of what both southern states have to offer to the culinary world.
Among the dishes North Texas residents can expect to indulge in during Louisiana Goes Lone State includes crispy gulf shrimp 'n' grit "fries" and grilled Syracuse andouille (at District Dallas); crab and corn anolini (at Dea); crispy gulf oysters featuring LOLA pepper jelly, crumbled feta, crispy bacon, and pickled red onion (at Lounge Here); shrimp etouffee dumplings and candied yam bread pudding (at Roots Southern Table); to name a few.
The event formats vary from restaurant to restaurant, with some establishments hosting private ticketed dinners, while others will offer special menus with no reservations required. Because of this, Louisiana Goes Lone State recommends that interested attendees check the event website in advance to find details on each respective restaurant's plans for the night.
