First Look: III Forks Reborn And Wonderful

Opening this spring in Village on the Parkway, this flagship reinvention goes beyond a simple refresh

III Forks has always been about steak. The beloved Texas steakhouse reopened in Addison with a new flagship that trades old-school swagger for something sleeker, warmer and quietly luxurious. We love it.

Opening this spring in Village on the Parkway (in a former Chico's, that's been fully revamped and fully built out), this flagship reinvention doesn’t just freshen things up. It almost feels like a reboot. Gone is the trad steakhouse dining room. In its place: six thousand square feet of intimate corners, glowing metal accents and walls that practically lean in to join the conversation.

New Look For III Forks

The entrance makes it clear that this is not your father’s (or mother's!) III Forks. A folded metal panel shimmers softly under the Addison sky with an emblazoned “IIIF” logo. Inside, a gold-wrapped host stand greets you (dare we say... glamorously), backed by mosaic tile floors and, just beyond, a wall of wine that holds more than 1,200 bottles. This is still III Forks, after all.

“This is the blueprint for all III Forks,” John Kiel, III Forks' wine and spirits manager.

The new design — overseen by Addison-based firm Harrison — balances Texas bravado with boutique hotel cool. Tables are tucked into cozy clusters. Leather booths invite you to settle in, linger and order that second bottle. Even the front private dining room, with its secret entry, leans theatrical. There are possible plans for an upscale enclosed patio, maybe for next year.

But right now, it all feels effortless, which is, of course, the point.

III Forks is a restaurant my mom loved (she also loved Chico’s), and she would’ve been a big fan of this new look and this new location, even if it meant replacing her beloved clothing haunt.

The Food Is Still Excellent

But let’s not forget the real show here: the food. Executive Chef Chris Vogeli, who’s helmed III Forks for more than two decades, is still the star behind the pass. The menu keeps its steakhouse core — think USDA Prime, Snake River Farms American wagyu and A5 Miyazaki gyu — with the seafood flourishes you know and love, like the Chilean sea bass. And the French onion soup is still a must.

Add a glass (or bottle) from that towering wine wall, and you have the new III Forks in a nutshell: familiar, but rethought and oh-so-very welcomed.

For Those With Dietary Restrictions

The III Forks staff are knowledgeable about gluten-free and allergy restrictions. They also have vegetarian and vegan options.

New Summer Drinks

Starting May 13 through Sept. 8, III Forks is summer-themed cocktails, including the grand margarita (Don Julio Silver Tequila, Grand Marnier, fresh lime, Monin Agave Nectar and orange juice), mezcal con fresa (Dos Hombres Mezcal infused with strawberries, Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur, lime juice, Peychaud’s Bitters and grapefruit juice) and sparkling hibiscus margarita (Espolòn Reposado tequila, Grand Marnier, Monin Hibiscus, fresh lime juice and Fever-Tree Lime Yuzu).

III Forks Addison opens nightly at 4 p.m. for the bar, with dinner service running until 11 p.m. (10 p.m. on Sundays). It’s still a steakhouse. Still Texas. Still great.

(Thank you to III Forks for hosting and treating us.)
