Scott Joplin Chamber Orchestra Of Houston

When: February 3 | 5:00 p.m.
Where: Black Academy of Arts and Letters | 1309 Canton Street, Dallas

This orchestra, one of the nation's oldest contemporary majority African-American community orchestras, showcases Black artists and composers. Proceeds from this event benefit youth programs and feature performances by the South Dallas Children's Choir and Youth Classical Artist Competition winners. The concert spans classical, jazz, blues, gospel and contemporary music. This year's event honors Dr. Clark Joseph, the music and worship arts minister at St. John Church in Dallas.

NMWHM Black History Month - Taylor Pace Tribute To Earth, Wind & Fire

When: February 9, 2024 | 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Where: The Warehouse | 1125 E. Berry Street, Fort Worth

On February 9, 2024, join the captivating singer, songwriter and instrumentalist Taylor Pace at The Warehouse in Forth Worth. Immerse yourself in a live performance dedicated to paying homage to the legendary Earth, Wind & Fire. A Special Dinner For A Special Someone

2024 College Megafest - Black College Expo

Music Under The Dome

Mark your calendar for the first installment of the three-part winter series, Music Under the Dome, on February 22, 2024, at 7:30 p.m. The event will take place at the African American Museum in Dallas and is free and open to the public. However, registration is required. Jazz sensation Mahogany The Artist will kick off the series, and limited seating is available. 

Cook The Book: The Rise: Black Cooks And The Soul Of American Food

When: February 23, 2024 | 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Embark on a culinary journey inspired by Chef Marcus Samuelsson's cookbook. You can immerse yourself in the diverse and delicious world of black chefs, activists and writers. Led by a small team, you'll create a delightful meatless meal featuring recipes like Lagos plantains with yaji dip, tamarind glazed halibut, roasted carrots with ayib and Montego Bay rum cake. The ticket includes a copy of Chef Samuelsson's cookbook.

Texas Black Sports Hall Of Fame Induction Luncheon

Organized by the African American Museum, the Texas Black Sports Hall of Fame honors coaches and athletes who have made significant contributions to African American culture and history. This year's inductees include Jennifer Bell, Tamicha Jackson, Robert Pack Jr., Retha Swindell, Bobby Brooks, Lester Hayes, Nate Newton, Marvin Washington, Richard Bonner, Roger B. Brown (posthumously), Fred Whitfield and Abron Young, Jr.
