The Historic Downtown Plano Association is excited to release the first-ever Movies in the Park series in the Downtown Plano Arts District.
The free film screenings will take place on the last Saturday of each month this summer in Haggard Park. Some of the blockbusters being shown for Movies in the Park include Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Zootopia, and the live-action version of Cinderella, directed by Kenneth Branagh.
“The Downtown Arts District should be a destination experience for every person in Plano,” says Alex Hargis, the Executive Director for the Historic Downtown Plano Association. “We love our community of young families who live near downtown Plano and wanted to provide them a free night of fun. I mean, who wouldn’t like to hang-out with Chewbacca for the evening?”
In addition to the film screenings, food trucks will be on site to sell refreshments. Attendees coming to Movies in the Park are encouraged to show their enthusiasm for the films. There will be a best-dressed costume contest for Star Wars and a fairy godmother commendation for all princesses at Cinderella.
All showings will begin at 8:00pm in Haggard Park at Downtown Plano and are free to the public.
