The 2025 Scooter’s Coffee Frisco Bowl will have a new stage this year. The annual postseason game moves to the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco on Dec. 23, with kickoff set for 8 p.m. and a national broadcast on ESPN.
A Move To The Star
The shift comes as Toyota Stadium undergoes renovations. Rather than leaving the city, organizers secured a partnership with The Star, the Dallas Cowboys’ world headquarters and one of the nation’s premier football destinations.
“This partnership allows us to keep the game here in Frisco while also elevating the experience for fans and student-athletes alike,” said Sean Johnson, executive director of the Scooter’s Coffee Frisco Bow, in an official statement. “From the players competing to the fans celebrating the holidays with postseason football, hosting the game at the Ford Center during December is a win for everyone involved.”
What Fans Can Expect
The Ford Center offers 12,000 seats in a climate-controlled venue, a welcome change for fans and players used to the North Texas December chill. The stadium already serves as home turf for Frisco ISD football and regularly hosts national events, concerts and showcases.
The 2025 bowl will feature teams from the American Athletic Conference, Conference USA, Mid-American Conference, Mountain West Conference or Sun Belt Conference.

A Launchpad For Talent
Since its debut in 2014, the Frisco Bowl has earned a reputation for high-scoring games, averaging nearly 69 combined points per contest. It is college football’s second-highest scoring bowl game.
The game has also helped spotlight future professional athletes. According to event organizers, 132 players who competed in the Frisco Bowl since 2020 have gone on to be drafted or signed as NFL free agents. That includes 30 players from the most recent draft class alone.
Last year’s edition saw Memphis edge West Virginia 42-37 for its third straight bowl win.
