Texas-Based Beauty Brand Launches At H-E-B

Mindy McKnight, a Texas-based YouTube star behind Hairitage, is making a big splash as her brand returns to its Lone Star State origins. Now, Texan fans can shop Hairitage products at H-E-B stores.

With 188 locations stocking their best-sellers, including online availability, Hairitage is bringing its clean, inclusive haircare line to Texas's beloved retailer. Inspired by McKnight's own family and their various hair needs, Hairitage offers quality products at budget-friendly prices for all textures and hair types.

Here’s Local Profile’s Q&A with McKnight:

What does it mean to have your products in the state's favorite store? 

I was not born in Texas but glad life brought me here. I could not imagine raising my family anywhere else. As they say, everything in Texas is bigger and I think better too.

Why is having inclusive products important to you? 

As the head of a family of 8 with diverse hair needs and textures, we truly have tried every product under the sun. Before launching Hairitage, we were spending so much time and money on the hunt for products that worked for everyone in my family. It’s so important to me for everyone to be able to embrace their own unique hair story, with the ability to find affordable products to express their beauty regardless of hair type and needs. I am so excited to be making the brand even more accessible to all families with this new retailer in my home state!

Why are clean ingredients important for hair care? 

The clean formulations really come back to the family focus of the brand. It was important for me to develop products I would use on my own family. We wanted formulas that were great for diverse family hair needs and gave that feeling of home while staying naturally derived and clean. We formulate all our products with an extensive list of what we like to call “no nasties,” ensuring that we don’t include potentially concerning ingredients such as parabens, silicones, sulfates and phthalates. 

What products do you recommend for a first-time user? 

Our Length Check! biotin-infused products, which include shampoo and conditioner, are our best-selling offering and are great for someone new to the brand. This line works to cleanse your hair without stripping and makes it feel stronger, longer and thicker — which I think everyone desires. Our hot tools are also one of my favorite things that the brand offers, and I’d recommend our Up in the Air Volumizing Brush for first-time users, because it’s super easy to use and gives that perfect at-home, salon-quality blowout look in minutes.

How can users find a product that works best for them? 

I always like to start with my main need, whether it’s de-frizzing, thickening or styling a sleek pony. There are so many products out there that all work a bit differently, and my goal is to provide affordable options that allow the consumer to test out a few options and find what works best for them, what makes them feel best and accomplish their personal goals. We have over 80 SKUs in the Hairitage line across wetcare, tools, accessories and bath and body, and I truly believe we have something for everyone!

What has the community feedback been since launching in HEB?

Very positive. People have found it exciting that they can purchase their favorite hair care brand at their favorite hometown one-stop shop. 

Is there anywhere else in North Texas where Hairitage can be purchased? 

Hairitage can be purchased at Walmart, CVS and Kroger. 

Do you have any upcoming projects that you are looking forward to? 

Hairitage is always listening to our social community and we have something special coming up in the next few months that the people have been asking for. We cannot wait to launch and help satisfy their hair wants and needs.
