Construction Begins On 500 Acre Development In Allen, Texas

Billingsley Co., a Dallas-based developer, officially began construction on its expansive 500-acre project, Sloan Corners, in Collin County.

The project will span between Allen and Fairview. started construction on multifamily units at Hartwood Square. According to The Dallas Morning Newsconstruction officially started on April 25, 2024.

Hartwood Square’s east building will feature 210 units over four stories, while the larger west building will offer 269 units across four stories. Leasing for the east building is expected to commence in the third or fourth quarter of next year, with the west building following in March or April 2026.

Local Profile previously reported that in 2019, Billingsley acquired 240 acres at the southeast intersection of U.S. Highway 75 and State Highway 121 in Fairview. Billingsley partnered with the Petefish family, the original landowners, to develop the property. In 2021, Billingsley continued its expansion by purchasing an additional 260 acres in Allen. These lands are located at the southwest corner of the same busy highways.

“The corners of I-75 and SH-121 are one of the last great undeveloped intersections in DFW,” Lucy Billingsley, partner at Billingsley Company previously said in a statement. “To do it justice, we intend to build something really spectacular here."

According to Billingsley, the Allen portion of Sloan Corners alone will feature over 6 million square feet of office space, nearly 4,000 multifamily dwellings, 120,000 square feet of retail space, 270 hotel rooms and more than 50 acres of parks and open space.

The developer plans to begin the first phase of its multifamily development at Sloan Corners in Fairview in 2025, starting with 483 units.

In 2023, Billingsley also began constructing an 83-acre development in Plano. Beacon Square, located at the northwest corner of Coit Road and George Bush Turnpike, focuses on walkability. The work-live-play community will be equipped with nearly 810,000 square feet of office space surrounded by over 19,000 square feet of retail space and “The Neighborhoods,” a multifamily development that will hold over 1,000 units that are currently under construction.
