Plano Fire-Rescue Personnel Assist Kerr County Communities After Flood

In the aftermath of the devastating flooding in Central Texas, Plano Fire-Rescue has joined the broader emergency response efforts to support affected communities. 

As images of damage and stories of loss continue to emerge from Kerr County and surrounding areas, several Plano personnel are already on the ground, actively participating in search, rescue and medical missions.

Who’s There and What They’re Doing

Plano Fire-Rescue members are serving alongside fellow first responders through the Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS).On active deployment:

  • Lieutenant T. Berry, Engineer J. Hale, Firefighter C. Zuniga and Firefighter J. Stevens are assisting with search and rescue operations.
  • Engineer J. Cuba is deployed with Texas Task Force 2, also focusing on search and rescue.
  • Engineer K. Carpenter is supporting medical operations through the Emergency Medical Task Force.

​Plano Fire-Rescue expressed its pride in these responders and extended heartfelt condolences to the victims and families affected by the flood. The tragedy has impacted many, but it has also brought out the best in neighboring communities willing to step in and lend a hand.

“Our hearts go out to the victims and families affected by the devastating flooding in Central Texas,” the city said in a statement. “This tragedy has impacted so many and we stand in support of those facing loss and uncertainty.”

Across North Texas, restaurants are also raising funds through donation drives and proceeds-based giving.

Beloved dining spots, including The Charles, Uchiko, El Carlos Elegante, Mi Cocina and Monkey Bar, are inviting patrons to help simply by dining out. Each participating restaurant is offering unique ways to give back, from a portion of proceeds to special events, all benefitting flood recovery efforts in Central Texas.
