Looking to make your art a little more public? Here’s your chance! McKinney’s new City Hall is calling on all local artists to showcase their work in a stunning new space. And no, this isn’t just about adding a splash of color to the walls — it’s about bringing your art to life where it can truly be seen.
Thanks to the city of McKinney and the McKinney Arts Commission (MAC), the first three floors of the shiny new city hall (401 E. Virginia St.) will be turned into a vibrant gallery.
Call For Artists: Ready, Set, Submit
The invitation is open to artists of all backgrounds: traditional, contemporary, emerging and even students from local high schools and universities. Whether you paint, snap photos, create prints, or weave some textile magic, your work could be showcased for six whole months. That’s half a year to let the public bask in your creative genius!
But here's the catch: This is a family-friendly space, so leave any controversial or nudity-heavy works for another venue. Think tasteful and accessible for all audiences — after all, this is a city hall, not an avant-garde gallery.
The Perks
Beyond the honor of seeing your art hung in such a high-traffic location, you get some prime exposure. The city of McKinney will promote your art on the McKinney Arts Commission website. Plus, you can sell your work directly through QR codes next to your pieces. The best part? You keep all the proceeds. No commission cuts here!

The Details: Time To Apply
Artists can submit their work at any time, so no excuses, folks. You can apply in more than one medium and up to ten pieces of artwork. And the application? Totally free! All you need to do is to submit high-quality images that represent your work and a short artist statement. The city and MAC will review everything and notify applicants by email about their acceptance.
