The Tianyu Lights Festival is back, promising to light up the holiday season in North Texas with larger-than-life lanterns, cultural performances, and family-friendly activities. The festival runs from Nov. 7, 2025, through Jan. 18, 2026, at the Texas Trust CU Theatre grounds in Grand Prairie.
A Winter Wonderland Of Lights
Produced by Tianyu Arts & Culture, the festival will feature 19 immersive scenes made from hand-crafted lantern sculptures. Visitors can step into “Starlit Farm,” a countryside nightscape, or dive into “Magic Ocean,” an illuminated undersea world.
“This year we’re back bigger and brighter,” said Huiyuan Liu, event manager at Tianyu Arts & Culture, in an official statement. “The DFW community is wonderfully diverse and welcoming, and we can’t wait to share our lantern festival with families.”
More Than Lanterns
The experience goes beyond glowing displays. Each evening will feature live cultural performances, including Face Changing (Bianlian), acrobatics and the Peacock Dance. Shows are scheduled at 6:45, 7:50 and 9 p.m., weather permitting.
Guests can also shop handcrafted treasures in the marketplace, sample local and international foods at the festival court, and capture photos at interactive installations. Children will find an illuminated playground and new Magic Rides, available until 9 p.m. for an additional fee.
Building On Last Year’s Success
Last year’s festival drew families from across the Dallas-Fort Worth area with its immersive storytelling and elaborate designs. For 2025, Tianyu is introducing themed showcases and expanding the scope of its installations.
The company, which has produced more than 170 festivals nationwide, says its mission is to blend art, culture and conservation. According to Tianyu, more than 11 million people have visited its events since launching in the U.S.
