Plano’s commitment to technology and innovation continues to gain momentum with the opening of a state-of-the-art Engineering Design Center by L&T Technology Services (LTTS), a global leader in engineering and tech solutions.
The newly unveiled facility marks a major investment in the region’s future, bringing with it the promise of over 350 high-skilled engineering jobs in core sectors like mobility, AI, cybersecurity and smart manufacturing.
Equipped for the Future
LTTS’ new center starts with the capacity to house 100 engineers and is built to scale rapidly. The facility is ITAR-compliant, meaning it's authorized to work on sensitive defense-related projects, including the design, development and testing of military-grade systems.
In addition to national security work, the center will drive innovation in advanced cybersecurity through a new Security Operations Center (SoC) and help enable Smart City technologies.
“This center represents innovation at its finest and marks an important step forward for our region,” Mayor John Muns said in an official statement. “With 100 professionals to start and plan to grow to over 350 engineering jobs, LTTS is not just creating opportunities, they are helping shape the future of advanced technology development and smart manufacturing.”
Technology On Display
During the grand opening, LTTS engineers showcased a range of future-forward solutions:
- Factory of the Future: A demonstration of Industry 4.0-based digital manufacturing.
- TrackEI: A real-time railway track inspection tool.
- LTTS iDriVe: A mobility platform incorporating AD/ADAS, wireless charging and battery management.
- Fusion AI Platform: Real-time data insights for smart cities and advanced manufacturing.
- Software Defined Imaging: An AI-powered solution for enhancing precision in medical procedures using NVIDIA’s Jetson platform.
Leadership and Support
The Engineering Design Center was officially inaugurated by Plano Mayor John B. Muns, along with other dignitaries including U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, Congressman Pat Fallon, Consul General of India Manjunath Chenneerappa and LTTS leadership.
“This center is more than just an engineering hub — it’s a symbol of our promise to bring innovation closer to our clients across all major segments and industries that we serve,” said Alind Saxena, L&T Technology Services president and executive director of mobility and tech. “Plano is now a critical pillar in our global delivery model, with proximity to our clients, while working closely with local partners and talent to co-create industry-defining solutions right here in Texas.”
North Texas Is A Hub For innovation
As artificial intelligence fuels a surge in demand for digital infrastructure, North Texas is emerging as a national hotspot for data centers and tech investment. FiberLight, a high-capacity fiber optic network provider, is relocating its corporate headquarters to Plano, aligning with the region’s growing prominence in AI infrastructure. Plano is also the future home of a $700 million, 425,000-square-foot data center for Lambda Inc., a cloud computing company backed by Nvidia, currently being built by Aligned Data Centers.

This regional momentum reflects broader moves by tech giants. Nvidia recently selected North Texas as a key site in its initiative to build AI supercomputers entirely in the U.S., working with partners to create a fully domestic supply chain from chip fabrication to system testing. In Sherman, Texas Instruments is investing $60 billion in semiconductor manufacturing. The funds will be used to build and ramp up operations across seven advanced semiconductor fabs in Texas and Utah, including major expansions in the North Texas cities of Sherman and Richardson.
With its new Plano facility, LTTS strengthens North Texas’ place on the innovation map, bringing more jobs, technology and global impact to the local level.
