In preparation for the upcoming 2024 football season, Allen Independent School District (ISD) announced new safety measures at Eagle Stadium, set to take effect on Sept. 6, 2024.
According to the official statement, these updates are designed to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees, reflecting the district's commitment to maintaining high safety standards while responding to community feedback.
Among the key updates, all adults and students with tickets on the home side can now enter through any gate, whether home or visitor. To streamline entry, Allen ISD encourages fans to download the “HomeTown Fan” ticketing app and have their tickets ready in advance. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. and all attendees will be required to pass through metal detectors. A “no bag line” will also be available at each gate to speed up entry for those without bags, while the clear bag policy will remain in place.
Changes have also been made to the student section. High school students in grades 9 through 12 will have a designated section in the stadium, occupying sections 112 to 115, with dedicated restrooms and concessions. Students must present their "trust card" via the MINGA app to enter and re-entry to the student section will not be allowed if a student exits. Tickets for the student section must be purchased online by 3 p.m. on game day, as they will not be available at the gate.
Middle school students, who previously had their own section, are now encouraged to sit with their parents or in general admission areas 110 and 111. They do not need a special student ticket but must wear their student ID, as required by the district’s code of conduct. Administrators will be on hand to monitor student behavior, with misbehavior leading to removal from the stadium and disciplinary action.
In addition to the updated entry and seating procedures, Allen ISD is implementing more administrative stations throughout the stadium to further enforce behavior policies. “Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we implement these new safety measures this season," said the official statement by Allen ISD.
