A new car wash in Frisco promises to get your car more than just clean — it will get "dino clean."
The aptly named Dino Clean opened on June 24, 2024, and features raptors, triceratops and at least one pterosaur. (And yes, there is a T-Rex out front on the sign, too!)
Do Dinosaurs Clean Your Car?
Raptor statues spit water at your car upon entering the car wash. Human staff give the car a good scrub down before high-tech jets and brushes get your vehicle spick and span. Inside, there are dinosaur wall sculptures, dinosaur art and dinosaurs projected on your car's windshield and roof — all of which set the mood and entertain passengers. There is also a small park with dinosaur statues for photo ops.
Kid-Friendly Car Wash
"I got the idea for this in 2021," owner Marinko Mandich tells Local Profile. "I have four kids, and they were the inspiration." Dino Clean is about as kid-friendly as a car wash can get. But even adults will be charmed by the experience.
Previously, Mandich owned a car wash in Beaumont that was not dinosaur-themed. There were plans to do a gator-themed one in Louisiana. "But I thought, let's just do dinosaurs."
"Kids love it," says Mandich, who grew up in Dallas. "They come and take pictures with the dinosaurs."
How Much It Costs
- Dinolite: Basic car wash that uses "luxurious detergents" to remove the dirt. Includes wheel blast, double presoak, a spot-free rinse and drying. Priced at $10 for a single wash and $22 per month.
- Dinobrite + wax: Dinolite wash plus a coat of premium sealer wax. Priced at $15 for a single wash and $30 per month.
- Dinomite: Dinobrite option plus Wheel Bite (heavy-duty, acid-free, low-foaming tire cleaner that's effective for cleaning all types of wheels and removing brake dust), tire dressing for shiny tires and Rainbow conditioning treatment. Priced at $20 for a single wash and $35 per month.
- Dinoclean: According to Dino-Clean, this is the best wash and includes Wheel Bite, tire dressing, Rainbow conditioning treatment, sealer wax, luxurious detergents, wheel blast, a double presoak, a spot-free rinse and a powerful dry. Priced at $25 for a single wash and $40 per month.
The monthly memberships are for unlimited washes. Members sign up online and, according to Dino Clean, can upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time. Gift cards are also available for purchase.
Dinosaurs Are Neat, But How's The Car Wash?
Great! Our car looked great after getting the Dinoclean option. The theme is fun and cute, but the most important thing is whether or not it does the car wash part well. And Dino Clean does.
Vehicle Size Restrictions
Dino Clean can wash cars, trucks, SUVs and family vans under 7' 3" tall and up to 86" wide. Dino Clean can even wash dual-wheeled trucks, because the car wash is outfitted with a belt instead of a conveyor, making it possible to wash a larger variety of vehicles.
