As Frisco continues its explosive growth, Texas Health Hospital Frisco is expanding to keep pace. The hospital has announced a $25 million project to build out its seventh floor, adding 30 new patient rooms to its medical/surgical unit.
The renovation is expected to be completed by fall 2026 and is part of a phased growth plan that began when the hospital opened in 2019.
Continued Growth, Continued Care
“We understand that earning and keeping the trust of our patients and neighbors requires not only excellent care, but access when they need it,” Tiffany Northern, FACHE, president of Texas Health Frisco, said in an official statement. “This expansion enables us to continue to meet those needs today and into the future.”
The project follows a similar $25 million expansion completed in 2023, which added 30 patient beds and two operating suites on the hospital’s sixth floor. In October 2024, the hospital also opened its third gastroenterology suite to meet increasing demand for digestive health services.
Serving a Rapidly Expanding Community

Frisco’s healthcare needs are growing along with its population. From 2023 to 2024, Frisco’s population jumped 10.2%, significantly higher than nearby Plano (2.4%). Neighboring cities like Prosper and Celina are growing even faster, with population increases of 40.6% and 157.6%, respectively.
“In just the six short years since opening its doors, Texas Health Frisco has become an integral part of the community,” said Texas Health Hospital Channel COO Kirk King. “We are honored to have so many residents of Frisco and the surrounding communities put their trust in us for their healthcare needs.”
Meeting the Moment
With Collin County projected to double its population by 2060, reaching 2.5 million residents, healthcare systems like Texas Health are working to ensure infrastructure keeps up. The region’s evolution from a collection of suburbs into a dynamic urban corridor, now being referred to as “DFFW,” brings new pressures and opportunities.
Major projects like Fields and The Mix, Grand Park and the Universal Kids Resort are reshaping Frisco’s identity. As new office towers, retail centers and entertainment venues rise, so too does the demand for accessible healthcare.
