The Grilled Tilapia Plate at Aw Shucks and Big Shucks Oyster Bar

With Lent beginning next month, Aw Shucks and Big Shucks Oyster Bar has something special planned in commemoration of the period of Christian observance.

From Ash Wednesday (Feb. 14) to Easter Sunday (March 31), all of the oyster bar's five locations throughout North Texas — in Dallas, Richardson, Lewisville and Frisco — will offer a number of mouth-watering food deals amidst the Lenten season.

Each Friday during Lent, customers can enjoy the Grilled Tilapia Plate at a special price of $8.99. The delectable dish features two grilled tilapia filets served with rice and a vegetable medley.

For those looking for lighter options, Aw Shucks and Big Shucks will be offering a number of hearty soups that include Maria's Clam Chowder (a New England-style chowder topped with bacon and parsley) and Caldo de Mariscos (a fish and head-on shrimp concoction with vegetables in a spicy broth).

Both soups are served with cilantro, onion, lime, rice and bread, and are sure to provide a satisfying option that will warm patrons from the inside and out this Lent season. According to the companies, "it's a taste of the South that will have you coming back for more."

Outside of the specials, Aw Shucks and Big Shucks will also be offering their usual wide range of delicious shellfish such as shrimp, crawfish, crab legs, salmon, catfish and oysters — all of which can be prepared to your preference, whether it be boiled, grilled or fried.

Celebrating 40 years, Aw Shucks and Big Shucks Oyster Bar are among the best places in North Texas to get raw oysters, shrimp, catfish, crab legs, po'boy boy sandwiches, a nice cold beer and some tasty in-season crawfish. With its eclectic seafood shack atmosphere, guests are guaranteed to have the "best shuckin’ time.'
