Dallas’ culinary scene will be in the spotlight this fall thanks to EVELYN Executive Chef Henry Johnson, who is set to represent Texas in the new season of Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen. season 24, themed “Battle of the States,” premieres Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. on FOX.
For the first time in the show’s history, every competitor will represent a different state, bringing a nationwide flavor showdown to Ramsay’s fiery kitchen. Johnson, who was recruited for the competition after being discovered on social media, says the experience was as grueling as it was rewarding.
“You are literally on camera 24/7,” said Johnson in an official statement. “Besides being able to learn from a Michelin-starred chef, it was such a great experience pushing myself to the limit. Creating dishes in 30 minutes with very few ingredients is every chef’s dream.”
The Chef Behind EVELYN
At EVELYN, Johnson has already built a reputation for bold flavors and a culinary vision that matches the restaurant’s cinematic flair. The 9,500-square-foot space — part restaurant, part lounge — draws inspiration from old Hollywood glamour while mixing in the energy of disco, rock ‘n’ roll and modern nightlife. With a steakhouse-driven menu, live music and an impressive cocktail list, EVELYN has quickly become a beloved dining destination for Dallas.

As executive chef, Johnson sees his role not just as cooking food but creating an experience. Competing on Hell’s Kitchen gives him a chance to take that vision to a national audience.
A Taste Of Competition
Filmed at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut, the season pits chefs against one another in high-pressure culinary battles. While the dishes and deadlines tested Johnson’s skills, he says the friendships he made along the way were just as memorable.
“I’m extremely humbled and honored to be able to represent Texas in the upcoming battle of the states,” he said.
