John Tesar, the acclaimed chef behind Knife, is once again stepping into a different kind of kitchen — one filled with cameras, competitors and a $100,000 prize. Tesar is set to compete in Food Network’s latest high-intensity showdown, House of Knives, premiering March 18 at 9|8c. Hosted by Scott Conant, the series promises a sharp — dare we say, cutting-edge — test of skill, strategy and survival. I mean, if your show is called House of Knives, who better to get than a chef with restaurants called Knife?

Where Culinary Titans Clash

In House of Knives, chefs will be pushed to their limits, facing intense cooking challenges designed to test their personal styles and culinary chops. Each week, one unlucky competitor gets sliced from the competition (figuratively, of course) until only one remains. Tesar isn’t flying solo — he’s up against an elite roster of competitors, including  Anne Burrell, Shirley Chung, Kelsey Bernard Clark, Poppy O’Toole, Viet Pham, Jonathon Sawyer, Martel Stone and Claudette Zepeda. Let’s just say this kitchen will be packed with talent and a whole lot of fire.

Tesar’s Signature Style

Known for his bold flavors and no-nonsense approach, Tesar isn’t one to back down from a challenge. With decades of experience, two Bravo Top Chef stints and a Michelin star under his belt, he’s more than ready to bring the heat. Fans of his Knife Steakhouse in Plano and the Knife Italian Steak at The Ritz Dallas, Las Colinas, know that when Tesar is in the kitchen, things get serious — and seriously delicious.

The show offers Tesar a chance to showcase his talent beyond the steakhouse world. While famous for dry-aged beef, Tesar has also made waves with seafood-forward menus, an influence that will carry over to the Knife Steak & Seafood. Inspired by his Michelin-starred Knife & Spoon, the rebranded concept features his legendary dry-aged program alongside fresh, seafood-driven dishes. This coincides with The Highland Dallas’ $13 million renovation, which includes a revamped lobby and a stylish new cocktail lounge.

Will He Carve Out a Victory?

Tesar's already carved out a big name in culinary world and previously made a splash on TV. As House of Knives unfolds, expect intense moments, unexpected twists and the kind of culinary drama that keeps audiences hooked. Legendary guest chefs will make surprise appearances and each episode will test the limits of even the most seasoned competitors.

For Tesar, it’s another opportunity to prove why he remains one of the most talked-about chefs in the business. Will he slice through the competition or get chopped? There’s only one way to find out.
