Dog Haus, a restaurant chain with five locations throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area, has announced that it is raising funds in support of Maui throughout the entire month of September.

To help out the communities that have been affected by the recent Maui wildfires, the gourmet hot dog franchise is introducing three new Hawaiian-inspired offerings, with one dollar from every sale going towards Hawai‘i Community Foundation’s Maui Strong Fund.

The three new food and beverage items include the ohana chicken sando, a fried chicken sandwich topped with chili crisp, spicy mayo, Haus slaw and more; the mighty moa wings, which are traditional bone-in chicken wings tossed in teriyaki aioli and topped with spicy mayo, among other ingredients; as well as the Aloha Spirit, an island-inspired cocktail made with rum, Aperol and orange curaçao, to name a few.

The trio of refreshments was created by Dog Haus Culinary Director and Würstmacher Adam Gertler, in collaboration with bakery company King’s Hawaiian.

Established in 1916, Hawai‘i Community Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to create an equitable and vibrant Hawaii, in which all its island communities thrive.

The organization started up the Maui Strong Fund in response to the catastrophic wildfires, as a way of supporting the long-term recovery needs of the people and places affected.

The funds raised by Dog Haus will help ensure that Maui people get the help that they require, as they begin the rebuilding/recovery process.

"It’s a privilege to bring people together through food while supporting communities in their time of need, and this is one of those times,” said Andre Vener, co-founder of Dog Haus. “By raising funds for Maui's recovery, we're supporting a community in need; our brand is all about community. Our hearts go out to the people of Maui.”
