Texas’ top chefs are sharpening their knives and holding their breath. On October 28, the Michelin Guide will return to reveal which restaurants have earned a coveted spot in the 2025 Texas edition. The red-carpet-style ceremony in Houston promises new stars, fresh accolades and perhaps a few culinary surprises.
The Michelin Guide, recognized worldwide for its rigorous standards, offers travelers and locals a trusted resource for outstanding dining experiences.
“Last year marked a milestone for the Texas restaurant industry, and we’re excited to continue celebrating the state’s exceptional culinary talent at this year’s ceremony,” said Gwendal Poullennec, international director of the Michelin Guide, in an official statement. “Texas’ culinary scene boasts a rich heritage, defined by its diverse flavors, unique cuisines and remarkable talent — qualities that make it distinctly Texan. It offers something for every kind of traveler, and we look forward to unveiling our Inspectors’ findings in the coming months.”
Understanding The Distinctions
Restaurants featured in the guide can earn:
- One, Two, or Three Michelin Stars for exceptional cuisine with remarkable execution and chef personality.
- Bib Gourmand for high-quality, high-value meals — favorites of Michelin inspectors when dining off-duty.
- Michelin Green Star for leadership in sustainable gastronomy.

Inspectors may also highlight recommended restaurants and present special professional awards.
A Legacy Of Excellence
First published in France at the turn of the 20th century, the Michelin Guide began as a resource for motorists, evolving into one of the most respected authorities in fine dining. Despite the passage of time, its inspectors still rely on the same principles and selection criteria as the original editions.
