Urban Crust, known for fantastic wood-fired pizza and 32 Degrees, the stunning rooftop ice bar, is only getting cooler. Last year, Urban Crust threw a one-night-only vegan dinner that was so popular, they’re bringing it back. It’s one single night featuring five chef-prepared vegan courses paired with an assortment of vegan beers and wines, brought to life by Executive Chef/Partner, Salvatore Gisellu and Chef James Pettus.
“Last year’s dinner brought so much positive feedback from the customers who attended, we had to do it again this year,” Gisellu, said. “My wife is vegan, and I know it’s sometimes difficult for her to find high-quality, chef-inspired dishes when we go out to eat, so I thought it would be great to incorporate this lifestyle that resonates with a lot of people into our monthly wine dinner. The rest is history!”
With dishes such as Brussels sprout and quinoa chopped salad tossed in a fresh citrus vinaigrette and wood-grilled cauliflower steak with hatch chile polenta, the first dinner was wildly popular. This year, vegan wine pairings will again be offered, but this year, Urban Crust will raise the bar and offer vegan beer as well.
“Being Italian, I am, of course, partial to wine, but I figured that we could spread the love to the beer community with this year’s dinner, too,” Gisellu said. “It will add an element to the pairings that I’m excited about!”

Urban Crust, located in the heart of Plano’s historic district on 15th Street, brings family and friends together to enjoy excellent Italian food, an extensive wine list, and signature cocktails.
After partnering with World Master Chef and Sardinia, Italy native, Salvatore Gisellu and his wife, Jeanne-Marie, the four began planning to bring their vision of the largest hand-crafted wood burning oven to turn out the finest pizza, steaks and seafood to downtown Plano. The original vision comes to life as Urban Crust Wood-Fired Pizza, bringing diners the finest imported Italian ingredients, local organic herbs and greens, and in-house hand-crafted mozzarella for authentic pizza and fresh meals.
Urban Crust features a full-service third-floor bar, 32 Degrees Rooftop Bar, that holds a 30-footlong frozen bar top to keep guests’ drinks cold. It also offers four beers on tap, poured at 32 degrees, and four frozen liquor taps, poured and -5 degrees. The restaurant and bar is open daily from 11– 2 a.m., with brunch offered on Sundays from 11 a.m.–3 p.m.
