The college bowl season is set to return to Frisco, Texas, with the 2024 Scooter’s Coffee Frisco Bowl scheduled for Tuesday, December 17, at 8 p.m. CT/9 p.m. ET at Toyota Stadium. This much-anticipated event will be broadcast live on ESPN.
This year's game will feature teams selected from the American Athletic Conference, Conference USA, Mid-American Conference, Mountain West Conference or Sun Belt Conference. ESPN Events manages the Frisco Bowl, one of the 17 college football bowl games under its ownership.
The Frisco Bowl originated in Miami as the Miami Beach Bowl before moving to Frisco in 2017 establishing a reputation for high-scoring games. According to an official statement, it averages a combined 67.7 points per game, making it the third-highest-scoring bowl game in college football. Notably, the 2023 Frisco Bowl witnessed UTSA from the American Athletic Conference secure their first bowl victory by defeating Marshall University from the Sun Belt Conference with a score of 35-17.
The Frisco Bowl has also proven to be a launching pad for future NFL talent. Since 2019, 101 players who have participated in the Frisco Bowl have gone on to be drafted or signed as free agents by NFL teams. The 2023 game alone saw 16 players drafted or signed to NFL contracts.
