After Deadly Hit-And-Run, McKinney Police Looking For Driver

The McKinney Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance to locate a driver after a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred on the night of Friday, Sept. 22, at approximately 11:30 p.m. 

According to the McKinney Police Department, police received reports that a pedestrian was struck in the roadway on the southbound frontage road of Sam Rayburn Tollway near Grand Ranch Parkway. The location of the hit-and-run is not far from the exit for Hub 121.

When officers arrived on the scene, there was no vehicle present at the location of the crash and the victim did not survive. According to the police department, the identity of the victim remains undisclosed, pending notification of their next of kin by the medical examiner’s office.

According to the police, detectives suspect that the vehicle implicated in the incident might be a 2012-2016 Honda Civic, exhibiting substantial body damage to its front and driver's side, including a noticeable absence of the front driver-side fender well. There are currently no videos or photos of the vehicle available for release. Police did not disclose if they have located any potential suspects.
