On Oct. 20-22, 2023, the 28th annual Armeniafest will once again be taking place at St. Sarkis Church in Carrollton, Texas.

Organized each year by the St. Sarkis Church’s Armenian community, Armeniafest is an Armenian cultural and food festival that brings North Texans together for a weekend chock-full of performances, activities, delicious food and more.

This year, visitors will get the opportunity to take in both traditional and modern Armenian dances, performed by the talented Groung Dance Ensemble. For residents who prefer to get up and move themselves, there will also be step lessons for shourchbar, a traditional Armenian circle dance.

The event will be hosting numerous informative exhibits, with a focus on notable Armenian people that have made a major impact on the world. These presentations will give attendees the chance to learn more about the culture in an engaging way.

Other activities planned throughout the weekend include friendly games of backgammon, a silent auction and raffle, church tours, a pilav eating contest and much more.

Speaking of eating, the festival will have several different hand-made delicacies available to indulge in, such as grilled kebabs, as well as numerous pastries and baked goods, to name a few.

The festival will also feature an on-site gift shop that offers several unique Armenian souvenirs, which attendees can purchase and take home with them.
