Plano Police Arrest Nine Suspects In Burglary Spree

At around 2:14 p.m. on Sept. 5, 2023, Plano Police Detectives arrested nine individuals on charges of burglary in the 6500 block of Independence Parkway. 

According to Plano police, the operation was a collaborative effort involving the burglary unit and detectives from various investigative units. Arrests after an ongoing investigation into burglary incidents that transpired in Plano on Aug. 16 and Aug. 26. 

On Sept. 5, detectives received information about suspects who had traveled to the Plano area from Houston. The detectives identified and tracked down the vehicles linked to the previous burglary incidents. Surveillance operations were initiated to monitor the suspects' activities.

During the surveillance, the suspects were observed scouting an apartment complex and purchasing tools commonly associated with burglaries, strongly suggesting their intent to commit a criminal act. The suspects returned to the same complex with the acquired tools, and detectives verified that a burglary had indeed taken place.

At the time of the arrests, detectives recovered the stolen jewelry items belonging to the victims, as well as the burglary tools used by the suspects.

“We are determined to investigate all criminal activity in our city and maintain a secure environment,” a statement from the Plano Police Department read. “Our units collaborate closely, strengthening our ability to combat criminal activity. With our combined efforts, we will continue to maintain a safe environment that contributes to the quality of life.”

The suspects were transported to the Plano City Jail. All arrested individuals were transported to the Collin County Detention Center for a bond hearing.
