Marvelous news, Plano! Theatre Britain has just announced their next performance; Perfect Wedding, a farce by Robin Hawdon. For those of you who don’t know, a farce is comedy—the kind that’ll have you laughing out loud if not rolling around in your seats crying with laughter! This is British humor at its finest!

Opening night is slated for Friday, April 8 with subsequent performances scheduled every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through May 1.

So what is Perfect Wedding all about?

Perfect Wedding is an uproarious comedy. On the morning of his wedding, Bill wakes up in the hotel bridal suite in bed with a young woman he doesn’t recognize. With the bride due at any moment, he has to think fast. Expect misunderstandings, mistaken identities and farcical shenanigans!

Robin Hawdon is an actor, novelist and playwright. His first major commercial success, The Mating Game, had a long run at London’s Apollo Theatre. This was followed by Birthday Suite, Revenge, Don’t Rock The Boat and Don’t Dress For Dinner, based on an early French play by Marc Camoletti, which ran in the West End for six years. In the 1980s, he founded the Bath Fringe Festival, and became Director of the Theatre Royal Bath, England’s premier touring theatre. His novels include A Rustle In The Grass, The Journey and Survival Of The Fittest.

Directed by Sue Birch, Perfect Wedding features Bryan Brooks, Dana Harrison, Jamila Marie, Michael Salimitari, Jennifer Stoneking and Elizabeth McWhorter. Set design by Darryl P. Clement, lighting design by Jason Lynch, costume design by Shanna Gobin, wigs and hair by Don Hall, with original music by Aaron Fryklund.
