On May 5, 2025, ACM Lifting Lives, the philanthropic arm of the Academy of Country Music, launched ACM Awards week in Frisco with a heartfelt tribute to healing through music.

During an exclusive event at the soon-to-open Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Frisco at PGA Parkway, the organization unveiled a permanent, one-of-a-kind guitar wall designed to lift the spirits of patients, families and hospital staff.

Slated to open in July 2025, the hospital's new campus welcomed this installation as a symbolic and sensory embrace  —highlighting the emotional support music can offer during life’s most vulnerable moments.

Six Guitars, One Purpose

The wall features six guitars donated by Gibson Gives, the charitable arm of Gibson, displayed alongside photos of Texas-born country stars who’ve graced the ACM Awards stage. Icons like Ronnie Dunn, Miranda Lambert, George Strait, Cody Johnson, Parker McCollum and Tanya Tucker now look out from the installation, grounding it in both local pride and national legacy.

Each guitar is paired with a QR code linking to a themed playlist — curated to help listeners inspire, celebrate, motivate, heal, cope and relax. These soundtracks provide more than ambiance; they offer patients a chance to connect with their emotions and memories through music, no matter what brings them into the hospital.

“ACM Lifting Lives is dedicated to improving lives through the power of music, and we are always finding new ways to do just that,” Taylor Wolf, director of ACM Lifting Lives, said in an official statement. “Healing takes many forms, and we're honored to be connected with Baylor Scott & White, who cares for their community holistically.”

More Ways ACM Is Giving Back

The guitar wall unveiling was just the beginning of the ACM’s celebration in Frisco. On May 7, the organization will host Play Something Country, a high-profile gala at the Omni PGA Frisco honoring the legendary Brooks & Dunn.

With 25 ACM Awards under their belt, the duo will be celebrated through live performances of their hits by country stars like Eric Church, Cody Johnson, Megan Moroney, Keith Urban and Lainey Wilson. Bobby Bones will emcee the evening, which includes a cocktail hour, casino-style games, silent and live auctions and a curated dinner.

Proceeds will benefit ACM Lifting Lives’ mental health programs, particularly those supporting country music industry professionals. Table packages begin at $15,000 for eight guests, with premium options available.

Frisco’s Role in Country Music’s Future

As Frisco continues to position itself as a cultural and entertainment hub, events like this cement the city’s place in country music’s growing story. With the 60th ACM Awards set to follow just one day later, the week is not only a tribute to the genre’s legacy but also a celebration of how music continues to shape and support communities — on stage, in hospitals and beyond.
