SHRUNK 3D is a fully mobile photo studio that transforms real people into hyper-detailed 3D figurines. Using 95 high-definition cameras inside a sleek mobile trailer, the system captures 190 photos in one second, creating a full-color scan ready to be printed in vibrant, realistic detail. It’s fast, personal and surprisingly emotional.
At the heart of it all is local owner Wotsa Koutoglo, who brought the SHRUNK 3D franchise to McKinney — and added her own unique blend of creativity, generosity and soul.
“We’ve done wedding toppers, pets, sports teams and even one for a family saying goodbye to their dog,” Wotsa told me. “It’s more than a figurine. It’s a memory you can hold.”
A Mobile Experience Made for Every Occasion
Whether it’s a wedding, graduation, sporting event or corporate gathering, SHRUNK 3D McKinney comes to you. The self-contained trailer requires no external power source, just a parking spot.
“It only takes three seconds to scan someone,” Wotsa said. “They step inside, pose and they’re done. The final figurine arrives in about three to four weeks.”
Figurines range in size from 3 to 9 inches, starting at $90. The most popular option? A 6-inch figurine for $175.
And it’s flexible: hosts can cover the cost for their guests, or simply invite SHRUNK 3D McKinney to be on-site so individuals can purchase their own keepsake.
“Weddings are a big one,” Wotsa said. “We scan the bride and groom before the big day so their figurine can sit on top of the cake, then go home with them as a forever keepsake.”
She’s also been hired for international soccer tournaments, martial arts showcases, graduations and recently created a figurine of Mayor George Fuller, McKinney’s outgoing mayor, alongside his dog — unveiled as a special tribute at his farewell celebration.
The Story Behind the Scanner
What makes SHRUNK 3D McKinney truly special isn’t just the technology — it’s Wotsa’s story. Before launching SHRUNK 3D, Wotsa founded Lantsa Gifts, a custom gift business inspired by a life-changing conversation with her cousin. He encouraged her to share her gift for meaningful giving with the world. Days later, he passed away unexpectedly.
“I was grieving and crying, asking God, ‘What do you want me to do with this?’” she said. “And I felt the answer: start a gift shop. Show people how to give with purpose.”
When she discovered SHRUNK 3D, it felt like the perfect extension of that mission.
“I always say, if you don’t know what to give — give the person themselves,” she said. “These figurines are so personal. People light up when they see them.”
Every Figurine Gives Back
Wotsa also donates a portion of every sale to causes close to her heart:
- Local North Texas nonprofits
- A tuition-free school founded by her grandmother in Togo, West Africa
In Togo, students must pay tuition starting in pre-K, something many families can’t afford. Her grandmother saw the need, donated land and hired teachers so kids could attend school for free.
“When people buy from us, they’re not just getting a gift, they’re giving opportunity,” Wotsa explained. “You’re supporting education. That means everything to me.”
A Campaign to Honor Breast Cancer Warriors
This October, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, SHRUNK 3D McKinney is gifting 25 women who are fighting, or have fought, breast cancer with a personalized 3D figurine. Wotsa is actively seeking sponsors to support this powerful initiative.
“We want to celebrate their strength and courage,” she said. “It’s a small way to say, ‘We see you. We honor you.’”
