Opened this past spring, Nikki Greek Bistro & Lounge serves up a delicious taste of the Mediterranean with style and class.

What Makes It Special

Owned by Lisa and Tom Georgalis of The Ivy Tavern, a regular haunt for Ivy League alumni gatherings in North Texas, Nikki Greek Bistro puts an elevated spin on staples, like Greek salad, moussaka, lamb pita pockets, spanakopita and keftedes. Under chef Ryan Carbery, who took over this past fall and made his name at restaurants in Dallas and Plano, Nikki served us one of our favorite meals of late 2024 — fresh, delicious and wonderful, we loved it.

Each of Nikki Greek Bistro & Lounge's elegant themed rooms has its own personality and represents a different part of Greece: the front blue room is Mykonos, the white central dining area is Athens and the pink-hued back dining room is the coast.

Plus, there's an intimate side patio, which, weather permitting, is ideal for Nikki's once-a-month Sunday brunch. Nikki is classy. We were charmed.

The addition of lunchtime service is welcomed. At night, after dinner service, Nikki turns into a lounge, complete with an in-house DJ, and goes until 10 p.m. on weekdays and until midnight, or sometimes later, on weekends.

What We Tried

Everything was delicious, and we were impressed with the Nikki Greek salad (shaved cucumber, pickled garden vegetables, tomatoes, sliced feta, Georgalis Greek dressing), and the keftedes Greek meatballs (Texas prime pasture beef, crispy pita, tzatziki, pomegranate molasses, greek olive and caper relish). The market fish, which, for us, was the albacore tuna, and a highlight — cooked and seasoned to perfection.

We were surprised at how delicious the bifteki burger was. Made with the same seasoned meat as the meatballs, it was served with grilled red onion, melted feta and tzatziki on a brioche bun.

"This is the best burger in Dallas," said Dalton, our server. It certainly is one of them. Who goes to a Greek restaurant for a burger? From now on, I do, that's who.

The baklava Nikki with toasted pistachio, golden phyllo, local honey and pistachio ice cream was fabulous — a perfect end to a wonderful meal.
