Nobu, a world-renowned Japanese restaurant, is slated to host its “Taste of Nobu” event at its Dallas location on March 9, with a familiar face set to appear.
Headlining the North Texas culinary event is Nobuyuki Matsuhisa, universally known as "Nobu," who stands as the revered chef-proprietor behind the global phenomenon of Nobu and Matsuhisa restaurants.
The upcoming Dallas event will give attendees the unique opportunity to meet the pioneering culinary artist in commemoration of his brand’s 30th anniversary.
In addition to seeing Matsuhisa in the flesh, Taste of Nobu Dallas will also take guests on a culinary journey, offering signature canapes (appetizers), live chef stations, as well as hand-crafted cocktails made with Nobu’s QUI Tequila.

Hailing from Saitama, Japan, Chef Nobu underwent a rigorous apprenticeship at a prestigious sushi bar in Tokyo before embarking on a journey that led him to Peru, where he opened his own sushi bar. Immersed in a new culture and surrounded by unique regional ingredients, Nobu's inventive flair flourished, birthing what is now recognized as the renowned Nobu Style. His travels took him through Argentina, back to Japan, and to Alaska before he eventually settled in Los Angeles.
In January 1987, Nobu introduced Matsuhisa to Beverly Hills, California, captivating food enthusiasts and celebrities alike. It was during this time that his enduring friendship and partnership with actor-director Robert De Niro blossomed. Inspired by De Niro, Nobu, alongside restaurateur Drew Nieporent, unveiled the inaugural Nobu in New York City in 1994, replicating the resounding success of Matsuhisa.
In a momentous expansion in 2013, the Nobu brand ventured into the realm of hospitality with the launch of Nobu Hotels. Today, Chef Nobu's culinary empire boasts over 50 restaurants and 16 hotels, spanning five continents.
