A Coppell-based interior design company is being acquired by Lowe’s in a $1.33 billion deal that marks one of the home improvement giant’s largest moves in recent years.

Lowe’s announced on April 14, that it will acquire Artisan Design Group (ADG), a North Texas firm specializing in the design, distribution and installation of interiors such as flooring, cabinets and countertops. The deal is expected to close in the second quarter of 2025, pending regulatory approval and standard closing conditions.

What This Means

Lowe’s plans to fund the acquisition using existing cash reserves. The move is aimed at expanding the company’s pro business — its growing line of services and tools geared toward contractors, builders and professional remodelers.

"With more than 18 million homes needed in the United States by 2033, we expect new home construction will be a major driver of pro planned spend for the next decade,” said Marvin R. Ellison, Lowe's chairman, president and CEO. “The acquisition of ADG allows us to build on our momentum with pro planned spend and is expected to expand our total addressable market by approximately $50 billion.”

With ADG’s relationships across the construction and property management industries, Lowe’s gains access to a new distribution channel and a footprint that extends well beyond its current retail reach.

What Is ADG

Founded in 2016, Artisan Design Group grew rapidly in under a decade. The company now operates 132 distribution, design and service centers across 18 states and works with a network of more than 3,200 specialized installers and homebuilders. In fiscal year 2024, ADG reported revenues of approximately $1.8 billion.

Though headquartered in Coppell, Artisan Design Group’s influence spans nationally, with customers ranging from national developers to local property managers. The acquisition reflects not just a major win for Lowe’s, but a spotlight moment for North Texas’ growing reputation as a hub for design, construction and real estate services.

"Our leading position in flooring, cabinets and countertops, combined with Lowe's scale and category breadth, will allow us to continue on our growth trajectory while providing an even more differentiated and comprehensive offering to the builders and property managers we serve today,” said Steve Margolius, ADG's CEO.
