For Texas transplants missing a taste of home, Grandscape has you covered. First, it was Portillo’s. Now it’s White Castle. The Colony’s entertainment district keeps importing out-of-state favorites, and this one has been on Texans’ wish lists for decades.

The First White Castle In Texas

After more than a century of serving up its signature square sliders everywhere from Chicago to New York, White Castle is finally making its Texas debut. The oldest burger chain in America announced plans to open a brand-new restaurant at Grandscape in The Colony, the first of its kind in the state.

White Castle has long been a regional icon, with most of its locations concentrated in the Midwest and Northeast. Until now, its western expansion stopped in Arizona, where it has three restaurants. For Texans, the arrival is a big deal — it’s the first time they’ll be able to get those famous sliders without booking a flight (or a very long drive).

“White Castle has been creating memorable moments with our iconic hot and tasty Sliders for more than a century, and today, we are reaching a new milestone as we prepare to bring that Crave to Texas for the very first time,” said Lisa Ingram, CEO of White Castle in an official statement. “We couldn’t imagine a more fitting location than Grandscape in The Colony for our debut in the Lone Star State, and we can’t wait to welcome new Cravers into the White Castle family.”

Summer 2026 Opening

White Castle spokesperson Wendy Schwantes confirmed to Local Profile that the new location is expected to open in the summer of 2026. The announcement was made official by The Dallas Morning News this morning, with a press conference scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at Grandscape.

The new outpost will join Portillo’s, the Chicago-based hot dog and Italian beef chain that opened its first Texas location at Grandscape in 2022. Together, the two Midwestern staples are turning The Colony into a kind of comfort-food crossroads for homesick transplants and adventurous locals alike.

Sliders, Nostalgia And Late-Night Runs

White Castle’s bite-sized sliders have fueled late-night cravings for generations and even starred in pop culture moments like “Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle.” Now, Texans will get their own chance to see what all the fuss is about.

Whether you’re nostalgic for the Midwest or just curious to try one of America’s most legendary fast-food spots, you won’t have to wait much longer.
