Every four years, when Texas Monthly releases their list of the 50 best barbecue places in Texas it’s a big deal. Like, a really big deal. Like, they have a BBQ Editor on staff. That’s how big a deal barbecue is in Texas.

Noodle House is one of those little family-run places that you could drive by a thousand times without thinking to visit. If you ever find yourself on Coit Road, I guarantee you’ve driven by it.

These icebox tarts are bursting with the flavors of the season: a buttery crust, lemony filling, and seasonal fruits like berries, peaches, or plums, garnished with fresh herbs.

Hookline – a new concept by Del Sur Restaurant Group (Hook Line & Sinker, Urban Taco) is under construction with plans to open Fall 2017 at The Boardwalk at Granite Park in Plano, Texas. Executive Chef Aaron Nelson will be running the kitchen.

As the song from Porgy and Bess goes, “summertime and the living is easy.” Especially when you decide to make a dessert that is a snap to make, using frozen puff pastry as the base and fruit in-season.

Jasper’s, a chef-driven concept famous for their Blue Cheese Chips and Big Daddy Martini, is one of those places that everyone likes. They serve “gourmet backyard cuisine,” and they don’t skimp on flavor.

It may be a cliché but when it comes to Legacy West some things are worth waiting for.

It’s been too long since I visited Lima Taverna but it’s one of the most interesting, creative and one-of-a-kind restaurants in Plano.

Assemble this dessert, pop it in your freezer, and you’ll have something at the ready for a refreshing end to a summertime repast.
